My Natural Hair Story Explained Through Gifs

So I woke up the morning after the Black History Month program and I felt like becoming one with mother Africa or something.

I got up, went to my mom and said:

“Hey, you. Yeah, you. I’m going natural.” 

And she basically said:

When I got to school I found my friends and started screeching:

 “Hey ya’ll I’m going natural.”

And they basically said:

A few months passed and I was 100% natural, and at some point I convinced myself that I was cool:

I felt like I could do anything:

But as my hair grew, I began realize that the maintenance of natural hair wasn’t easy:

I lightened up when I remembered the other girls I knew who were going natural. This meant that they felt my pain:

I decided that we would become natural haired insta-sistas. We’d talk about the twenty-one different ways to do braid-outs and have product junkie anonymous meetings:

But then I realized that despite our common struggles, they still hated me:

And the maintenance was still hard:
